Our invited guests for the evening were Marysol Asencio, Dr. PH, Associate Director of the Puerto Rican & Latino Studies Institute at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Asencio shared her findings and anecdotes concerning the Puerto Rican LGBT experience in NY based on her latest research.
Dr. Asencio was joined by Elliot Torres, a Gay Puerto Rican writer, who delighted those in attendance with selected readings from his latest book of poetry, "Undaunted." |
