First Friday Forums

We meet every first Friday of each month from 8:00pm-10:30pm at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community (LBGT) Center located at 208 W. 13th Street near 7th Avenue in New York City (1, 2, 3, A, C, E trains to 14th St; L to 8th Avenue). We can be reached at 718-596-0342 ext. 36.

Marysol Asencio and Elliot TorresOur invited guests for the evening were Marysol Asencio, Dr. PH, Associate Director of the Puerto Rican & Latino Studies Institute at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Asencio shared her findings and anecdotes concerning the Puerto Rican LGBT experience in NY based on her latest research.

Dr. Asencio was joined by Elliot Torres, a Gay Puerto Rican writer, who delighted those in attendance with selected readings from his latest book of poetry, "Undaunted."
